Dr. Mackenzie Kent, OTD, OTR/L, C-ASDCS
Fostering Growth, LLC’s founder, Dr. Mackenzie Kent, OTD, OTR/L, C-ASDCS graduated with her clinical Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from Touro University Nevada. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. She displays extensive knowledge in pediatric development, trauma, foster care systems and processes, autism, and child-led learning. She earned her Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist certificate in 2024 and became an SOS Feeding Trained Therapist in 2025. Dr. Kent is Mental Health First-Aid certified through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and practices Trauma-Informed Care (TIC). She has presented at the American Occupational Therapy Association’s conference on the intersectionality of foster care and occupational therapy.
At Fostering Growth, Dr. Kent understands that there are many different layers of difficulties and unique experiences that come with experiencing foster care, and she is prepared to support and assist foster children in a trauma-informed way that recognizes their strengths while fostering areas needing growth.
In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys spending time reading, traveling, cooking, and baking.

Joan is a human services professional with a background in behavioural health and disability support. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and enjoys working collaboratively with families to support independence, confidence, and everyday success.

Isabella recently graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. She is currently taking a gap semester as she prepares to attend UNLV’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program in June 2026. She aspires to become an occupational therapist specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury rehabilitation and adults with intellectual disabilities as she is passionate about helping individuals pursue occupations that are meaningful to them.
When she’s not indulged in the world of OT, Isabella enjoys tapping into her creative side. With over 10 years of experience in photography, journalism, and layout design, she enjoys bringing branding to life and creating engaging + informative flyers for companies of all kinds Her unique blend of creativity and compassion fuels everything she does, from healthcare to marketing, and she aims to bring innovation that excites to every project she takes on.
